I've been playing the violin for nearly a decade. I started back in 6th grade and stuck with it all the way through high school. Though I am no longer in an orchestra, I still play every other day for fun, finding sheet music online and playing songs I know and love from games and movies.
About Violin
The violin is a string instrument often played alongside the viola, the cello, and the contrabass in a string orchestra. It rests on the non-dominant shoulder, while the dominant hand slides a bow across the four strings. The non-dominant hand holds down the strings, shortening the length and heightening the pitch of the sound generated by the vibration of each string. There are four strings, with the lowest pitch being furthest from the dominant hand. In order of increasing pitch, they are the G, D, A, and E strings. The violin typically plays music in treble clef 𝄞, meaning the lowest of the black lines (shown in the images above) represents the note E.
